About a week after having sex with a guy I have developed a burning and tingling senstaiion around my lips accompanied by tiny fleshed toned bumps on my upper lip. Also the tips of my finger nails have the same burning sensation. My eyes have been itchy and it feels like there is something in them.
Could these be symptoms of herpes.

i always buy those cotton buds that are for beauty. one end is a flat round one for eye make up, the other end is a thin point. if you dip this end into nail varnish remover and gently rub it around the skin you can clean it without disturbing the nails. if you have a steady hand a normal cotton bud will also do it!How can i get nail polish off my fingers without ruining my nails?

This is because the remover tends to take out also the naturally secreted sebum oil of the nails. I recommend these strategies to pamper ur claws to an awesome feeling:
1. Use a Q-Tip or a small cotton swab
2. Dilute your nail polish remover with water in 3:1 ratio
3. remove the polish quickly taking care that the remover doesnt stay so long in the nail
4. Quickly dab some moisturizer and wipe them on your nails
5. Use 1-2 drops of baby oil on the nails and message them
6. Leave the nails to breathe naturally overnight

He has been biting his finger nails. At first I thought the daycare teacher cut them, but later I found out he bites them. He bites them so deep that sometimes it irritates himself. Probably because everything was new and i forgot about wanting to bite my nails. i have started again but not nearly as bad, though only when im bored, stressed or tired. I dont know much about why we do it, but maybe you could try sometimes taking him out of familiar environments. But not to lay any sad story down, but my dad was always beating up my mom, from when I was a toddler, I had 2 older sisters that raised me, both parents worked, and soon, 3 younger brothers, that was in the '50's then our house burnt to the ground one day in '64, and my mom met a guy in '65 and left us with our dad. We all worked at my dads restaurant, I was a dishwasher till I was 12, then started cooking, my sisters were waitresses. My dad was drunk all the time. None of us went to school, but somehow we all graduated from high school, doing the GED thing. So biting my nails was the least of my concerns. Ask yourself, what concerns does your little boy have? Good luck.

Is your boyfriend up to date with his anti-tetanus injection? I think they last for about 10 years before a booster is required, would be a good idea to have one if it's out of date. Antiseptic cream for now and check with your doctor. Good luck to him.

i have a problem of biting my nails and eating my finger skin. i dont know why, but it only happens when im nervous and ive been doing it for 2 years and i want to know what it is and how to get rid of it. i know its NOT!!!!! cannibalism. i never want to eat another human being. not saying i have. i mean i havent and never will.Help! I understand your wanting to quit this nasty habit. I use to do the same thing and couldn't resist just one more bite. I loved and hated biting my nails but surprisingly, and quite by accident, I realized I had quit this disgusting habit from no effort of my own.
My doctor prescribed Wellbutrin (burpropion hydrochloride) to help me quit smoking. In addition to successfully kicking my nicotine addiction, I found Wellbutrin to be extremely effective in keeping me from biting my nails. I was so surprised by this that I told my doctor. He said Wellbutrin has been found to help people with breaking unwanted habitual behavior. In addition to quitting smoking and biting my nails, I realized I had also quit another nervous habit of mine. I don't know how serious of a problem you think your nail biting is, but I'm telling you that Wellbutrin really works.
I don't know how you feel about going the medication route, but I heard your cry for HELP! I'm just passing information along so you have some options. this may sound stupid, but the answer to your question is obvious... you want to stop biting your nails, soooo, stop biting your nails. If you don't bite your nails then you've done it! It's like quiting smoking cigarettes, the best way is to just not smoke anymore cigarettes, then you quit!
It sounds like you need another habit to come out when you're nervous... maybe a rubberband to play with, or a stress ball to squeeze, just something to make you not bite your nails.
When i was little i use to pick my scabs, i told my mother i wanted to stop so what she did was put pepper under my nails and whenever i would peel it would hurt and eventually i stopped; so try that.
Or instead find another good habit like chewing gum or biting the insides of your cheek.
What I did, was instead of biting my fingernails and skin, I stuck my teeth in between my fingernail and finger, and just didn't bite down, and that helped me stop, without even realizing it, in about a weeks time.
Ok thats what i do all the time eating my nails but what i did is made some lemon aid with limes in it and dipped my fingers in it then when i bit my fingers/nails it tasted sour!
I understand your wanting to quit this nasty habit. I use to do the same thing and couldn't resist just one more bite. I loved and hated biting my nails but surprisingly, and quite by accident, I realized I had quit this disgusting habit from no effort of my own.
My doctor prescribed Wellbutrin (burpropion hydrochloride) to help me quit smoking. In addition to successfully kicking my nicotine addiction, I found Wellbutrin to be extremely effective in keeping me from biting my nails. I was so surprised by this that I told my doctor. He said Wellbutrin has been found to help people with breaking unwanted habitual behavior. In addition to quitting smoking and biting my nails, I realized I had also quit another nervous habit of mine. I don't know how serious of a problem you think your nail biting is, but I'm telling you that Wellbutrin really works.
I don't know how you feel about going the medication route, but I heard your cry for HELP! I'm just passing information along so you have some options. You'll have to speak with your doctor to determine if he'll prescribe Wellbutrin to you as there are some possible side effects. Good luck to you, and don't beat yourself up. this may sound stupid, but the answer to your question is obvious... you want to stop biting your nails, soooo, stop biting your nails. If you don't bite your nails then you've done it! It's like quiting smoking cigarettes, the best way is to just not smoke anymore cigarettes, then you quit!
It sounds like you need another habit to come out when you're nervous... maybe a rubberband to play with, or a stress ball to squeeze, just something to make you not bite your nails.
When i was little i use to pick my scabs, i told my mother i wanted to stop so what she did was put pepper under my nails and whenever i would peel it would hurt and eventually i stopped; so try that.
Or instead find another good habit like chewing gum or biting the insides of your cheek.
What I did, was instead of biting my fingernails and skin, I stuck my teeth in between my fingernail and finger, and just didn't bite down, and that helped me stop, without even realizing it, in about a weeks time.
Ok thats what i do all the time eating my nails but what i did is made some lemon aid with limes in it and dipped my fingers in it then when i bit my fingers/nails it tasted sour!

Why do our finger nails grow faster than our toe nails?
I heard the theory that finger nails are over used part of our bodies, they should be growing faster because of better blood circulation, which causes stimulation to the finger nails growth. But that is not scientifically proven. I think they grow with the same rate. Our toe nails are thicker (they grow in 3D) it looks they grow slower, but actually the amount of nail growth is the same. i had the same problem! i used to bite my nails non stop, it was bad, i tried a few things such as chewing gum, and one time i got my nails done really nice, and it encouraged me not to bite my nails anymore, so they could keep looking nice, i now have medium nails, and i dont bite them anymore, just pick a fun color, and design and try to keep it that way, having nicely done nails will encourage you to keep them that way, hope it helps=]
put chilli n your nails so that way youll get into a habit of not bitting your nails (it worked for me) if not chilli wasabi or some other type of thing you dont ike the taste of

I had to have a toenail pulled off...youch! I was moving furniture %26amp; bumped it %26amp; it got pushed straight up! I had an old set of acrylic nails removed today for my new set. While she was getting the nail off my thumb, it cracked a part of my nail and started to bleed, more or less halfway down the nail. Got nail in hand and finger is sore?

I stopped biting my nails when I got braces, because it was harder to bite them. That probably won't help you much.

I have torn my nail from my finger... what do I do now?
I got my nails done last week. I hit one of them, detaching my real nail from my finger (mostly) It is still hanging on by the cuticle. I have been putting antibiotic ointment on it, and it has stopped hurting. My question is, should I remove the fake nails, or keep them on to protect the finger. Also, I have a wedding in 2 months, so I'm not sure if it will be healed by then, in which case, maybe I should continue with the fake nails until then.I have torn my nail from my finger... what do I do now?

yes it comes with psoriasis. check with your doctor, ask him more about psoriasis and what the conditions are that come with it.

Continue to soak your finger in warm water with some salt in it. After it has soaked, clean off a needle with alcohol and poke the area with pus. Gentle push the pus out. Clean with hydrogen peroxide and put some antibacterial cream on it and cover with a bandaid. It may come back but just repeat the above. If the swelling becomes worse or you develop a red streak up the finger or increase in the amount of redness. Go see a doctor. I've done this before and usually after 2 or 3 days it's gone.

Why is it that only the primitive, really *primitive* primates get claws, which are better all around for stratching itches, defense, etc.?

Last time I checked the print magazines on the subject, the point of it was that as our eyes, brains, faces and such got bigger and more complex, we used more calories for that, and one really early result of this was that we no longer had the calories or metabolism to support full claws anymore.
So we grew the *cheap version* instead with fingernails, because our bodies had better things to do.

Chemical Burns on Finger from Nail Polish Remover?
I had very bad chemical burning on my fingers from a non-acetone nail polish a little over a year ago. The company is trying to get me to settle. What do you think? I still do not have all the feeling in my fingers that I used to. If anybody had this problem, please respond! The brand I used was Equate Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover. I do paint my nails but every time i do it it does not look that good and i cant afford to go get them professionally done how can i make them look ProfessionalHelp with painting my toes and finger nails?
that is a difficult one. it will take some practice. Also, buff your nails before applying the polish. Apply two coats of color and a two coats of a top clear sealer. You may want to also go with lighter colors that blend with your skin tones. big smeared 'bright red' polish looks more obvious when its messed up then lets say a sweet peach/coral/light pink color.
