Some people do it cause they are nervous about something.Why do people bite their finger nails?
Out of anxiety. I finally stopped when I was 19.

They don't want everyone to see brown stuff in their fingernails when they ran out of toilet paper.
so they can get the last bit of the poop under their nail out and eat it

Most people because of nerves
They are hungry
cos they are nervous
so they dont pick their bum
