Do you finger pick on guitar using your finger nails? ?

i have no clue how to finger pick and i was wondering if you need finger nails to do it or do you use your finger tip? thanks.Do you finger pick on guitar using your finger nails? ?
One of the all time greats, Mr. Chet Atkins, used his nails. But many, including me, don't have or like long nails. So no it's not necessary.Do you finger pick on guitar using your finger nails? ?
The great masters of guitar had their nails trimmed except the thumb nail. Altough there are people who use their nails and even finger ';picks.';
I'm a guy and don't really have fingernails so I just use my fingertips. That's how i was taught and just how i assumed it was done
No you really need to trim your nails to get a good tapping sound.
